Rice is basically from Asian countries. There are 3 ways of cooking rice and each of them requires a different proportion of water. Firstly, boiling method which requires 12 times as much water as rice, secondly, steaming method which requires 2-1/2 times as much water as rice, and lastly, the Japanese method which requires 5 times as much. You can choose any methods but you have to remember that rice grains when it is cooked properly, and to avoid rice having a pasty appearance, the rice must not be stirred too much or should not be cooked for a long time.
1st method: BOILED RICE – Boiling is about the simplest way. It is also the most popular method of cooking rice, especially in Asian countries. Rice which is boiled properly can form a valuable dish itself, and it is also a sensation foundation for other dishes and may be served at any meal. You should not waste the water using to boil rice as it has much mineral and can be utilized to prepare soups or sauces. This water can also be used as liquid requiring in making bread.
How to cook: Firstly, you should wash the rice carefully and add it to the boiling salted water. Boil quickly until the water starts to appear milky or until a grain can be easily crushed by the fingers. 2nd method: STEAMED RICE – Steaming rice requires more time than any of the preceding cooking methods, but it causes no loss of food material. As in the case of boiled rice, steamed rice can also be used as the foundation for many dishes that may be served at any meal.

3rd method: JAPANESE METHOD – By Japanese method, we can use rice in the same way as boiled rice and steamed rice. However, there are some advantages of being a more economical way of cooking rice by the Japanese method.
How to cook: Firstly, you should wash the rice carefully, add it to the boiling salted water, and boil slowly for 15 minutes. Secondly, you need to cover the utensil while rice is cooking and then put it in the oven for another 15 minutes so that the water can be evaporated completely and the grains are also made softer and softer. Finally, Japanese rice can be served at any meals in a variety of dishes.
