It seems a bit fast between week 16 and week 17 but we still have to continue our work about fantasy world. So remember to pick your own team before the deadline time which is on Tue 20 Dec 19:00 ICT or you will get your week 16 players continue to play in week 17 which I am sure none of you wants.
So let’s see what we got in the week 17 fixtures:
Wolverhampton v Norwich
Blackburn v Bolton
Aston Villa v Arsenal
Man City v Stoke
Newcastle v West Brom
Everton v Swansea
Fulham v Man Utd
QPR v Sunderland
Wigan v Liverpool
Tottenham v Chelsea
Predicted Wins:
Aston Villa v Arsenal
Man City v Stoke
Newcastle v West Brom
Everton v Swansea
Fulham v Man Utd
Wigan v Liverpool
Aston Villa have played really bad recently and even they will have a home game this midweek but I didn’t see any chances that Aston Villa can avoid Arsenal not winning this match. Arsenal did well in City match but Joe Hart was too fantastic. ManC should predictedly have an easy win against Stoke this week to continuosly remain in top spot. Newcastle have a “must win” home game against West Brom, they should not drop any single points like Swansea game last week if they still want to be in European spot at the end of the season, therefore, they will do all their best to guarantee a win here. Playing at the worst away game team, Everton should confortably have a win against Swansea if they can score the first goal as soon as possible as Swansea will continue to play a defensive strategy which made them successful in Newcastle game last week. Manchester United and Liverpool will surely need another wins to continue in the league title race with ManC.
Predicted Draw:
Wolverhampton v Norwich
Blackburn v Bolton
QPR v Sunderland
Tottenham v Chelsea
Norwich have been in a pretty form recently and they did well at Goodison Park last week, Wolverhampton will be likely to miss O Hara this midweek game, but playing at home will bring a few opportunities for them to avoid not being defeated by Norwich, hopefully they can gain at least 1 point there. Blackburn and Bolton will fight for an early relagation this season so it could be a goalness game here in my opinion. QPR vs Sunderland is another difficultly predictable game where they are all in middle of the table and both of them don’t want to leave behind so they will fight for their position and 1 point for each other should be a good idea. Tottenham made a come back after being defeated by Stoke, they did well in White Hart Lane to gain 3 points against Sunderland, however, playing against Chelsea even they just lost their chance of catching ManC after 1-1 draw against Wigan is always difficult for any teams, so I expect a high scoring draw there.
Let’s see about the suggestion for player picks this round.
GOALKEEPERS:
De Gea
Krul
Tim Howards
As I told you, De Gea will be a season keeper, and he did well last week and gained 14 pts, so if you have holded him at discount before, just continue to do it, he will not disappoint you. If you unluckyly sold him for any reasons before, so I suggest you to choose between Krul(@6.02 or even lower if you barndoored him) and Tim Howards(@5.37). They have a predicted home game and their prices are both at low so you can still save ur money for other positions and still have a high possibly CS goalkeeper for your team.
DEFENDERS:
Vermaelen
Santon
Heiteiga
Miguel/Gibbs
Perch
Brown
Boyata
Ferdinand
Vermaelen always scores an impressive point even Arsenal can have a clean sheet or not, so it is really worth to keep holding him at discounts if you already got him, if not, it could not be a bad idea to try to get him now, but his price is madly expensive. Santon should definitely continue to start as Newcastle will probably miss Steven Taylor till the end of this season, and he did quite well last game so I saw any chances that he will be put on the bench, but I am not sure about another Newcastle bargain which is Perch as M. Williamson has already recovered from 3-4 months injury, he is probably given a chance to start against West Brom. If you want a Everton defender for the game against Swansea, I will suggest you to go for Heiteiga, he is cheap and likely to start. As Djourou’s injury, Miguel or probably Gibbs will start, but I think Wenger will choose Miguel this time, he is cheap, young and playing at wing, worth risk for you isn’t it?. Brown and Boyata will likely to play and if you want an enabler, they are the best choices. ManU did great in 2 recent games so if you believe in them, and want a representative for ManU defenders, should go with Ferdinand, he is not terribly expensive but definitely play.
MIDFIELDERS:
Drenthe
Adam Johnson
Silva
Hoilett
Valencia/Nani/Young
Walcott
S.Hunt
Osman
HBA
My top pick this week is Drenthe, you should have seen how he played after being substituted last game, he shots, provided an assist, and scored 10 pts in just 10 minutes, how can you not hold him for a home game against Swansea where he is definitely the one to watch. Adam Johnson is not expensive and likely to start for ManC after putting on the bench on Arsenal game. If he is gonna make it, definitely he will shine BIG against Stoke. Silva could probably be rested this game after playing 90m in Arsenal win, but if you will not want to release him when you have already holded a worldclass midfielder at a discount. As the news from Blackburn Rovers page, Hoilett will make their return after missing 2 games due to a hamstring strain, and he will definitely the one to potentially make difference in this unpredicted game. I am not sure about how SAF will rotate players in ManU winger spot, so unless you hold any of Valencia/Nani/Young at discounts, you should not keep them in ur team as it will be a big risk. If you want a Arsenal midfielder, Walcott should definitely be the one to consider to buy, both Hunt and Osman scored last match, hold them at barndoor price would be a good selection. HBA is expected to start Brom game, so if you want an enabler and cheap, he is the one to choose.
STRIKERS:
Dzeko
Rooney
Ba
Kun Aguero
Yakubu
VPS/Gervinho
Bellamy/Suarez
Dzeko is probably the top pick for forwards this round as he left on the bench on Arsenal match and likely to start in a BIG game against Stoke, and probably the only City striker to start this game, so if he is gonna make it, @11.29 is too “cheap”. Rooney is in a good form after consecutively scoring in 2 games and you should hold him at discount, right? so keep doing it as he will score a lot in the next games. Ba didn’t score last game but had a solid point, and i expect him to back in scoring this week against West Brom. Kun is unlikely to start as he could be expectedly rested after consecutively playing for ManC but if you holded him at discount you will not willing to sell him, isn’t it? Yakubu didn’t have his big last game but playing at home against Bolton is definitely worth to risk him right? Everyone saw how he scored 42 points in a home game against Swansea, it could be another 4 goals again, who knows? VPS is expensive, but it is worth to keep holding him at any discounts when he is not played against BIG 4. Gervinho is his partner, and likely to start and score a lot if VPS didn’t make it, and he is much more cheaper. Bellamy isn’t expensive and probably have a chance to start after an impressive performance last game. We still need to wait for FA news about Suarez suspension but if he can make it through, he will be a big bet.
Here is my current team. I think I gambled this one, so many unsurely starting players but if they can make it, I think my team is the best.
Krul, Brown, Boyata, Santon, Silva, Hoilett, Drenthe, Adam Johnson, Rooney, Ba, Dzeko
What do you think? Remember to pick ur own team asap.
Good luck,
Michael.
